Outside Broadcast and Studio Technician

Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media, level 3 – Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Rondo is looking for an enthusiastic individual to be trained to work within the company’s Outside Broadcast and Studio facilities. The post will include the following duties:

    · Preparing the Outside Broadcast vehicle and appropriate equipment for filming on location

    · Preparing equipment for Studio productions

    · The upkeep and maintenance of equipment, ensuring that it is kept in good condition and ready for the next production

    · Driving vehicles to and from location

    · Assisting in the studio, ensuring that the facility is kept in a tidy condition with the appropriate equipment available to the production team, whilst conforming fully to health and safety requirements

    · Assisting the facilities manager with any reasonable duties

Training will be provided during your apprenticeship.

The ability to work both as a supervised team member and as an individual with a positive approach to problem solving is essential. An interest in IT and in developments in the media industry (broadcast and online) would be very advantageous.

Due to the nature of the broadcast industry you will need to have a flexible approach to working hours. You will sometimes have to work unsociable hours and, on some occasions, work away from base.

Contract: 12 months

An apprenticeship in Creative & Digital Media is a form of vocational training whereby the apprentice follows a Creative & Digital Media approved framework to develop skills and knowledge and who would then demonstrate and evidence their application in a workplace environment.
In order to complete the apprenticeship, the apprentice must have been employed during the apprenticeship, have evidenced competence in the specified range of vocational skills and have an employed status at the time of completion.
