Codi Hwyl America

October 21, 2019

One of the most colourful television double acts on S4C will venture further than ever before in a brand new series – Codi Hwyl America. This time, popular Anglesey actor John Pierce Jones and comedian and entertainer Dilwyn Morgan leave their beloved sailboat behind and head for the United States, which figures high on both friends’ bucket lists. Traveling across country in a camper van, they are on the road to prove to themselves that age is not a barrier to new adventures.

In the first programme, they visit Ellis Island where John has family connections, they meet some of the newest Welsh immigrants in the Big Apple and play baseball with a youth charity based in East Harlem. And the first leg of their journey in the camper van turns out to be bumpier than expected!

Britannia Bridge

September 3, 2019

Do you have memories relating to the Britannia Bridge, especially the 1970 fire and the subsequent rebuild? Do you have any home movie footage from the period?

Rondo Media, a Caernarfon based production company, are looking for home movie footage of the Britannia Bridge, Menai Bridge and surrounding areas from the 1960s through to the present day. The footage could be from boats on the straits, footage of the fire, the rebuild or the opening day of the road bridge. Anything which gives a sense of place and time. This is for a documentary for S4C and BBC celebrating the history of the Britannia Bridge.

We are also interested in speaking to people who have been in any way involved with the bridge over the years, especially eyewitnesses to the fire and people who were involved in the remarkable rebuild.

If you’d like to share your story, or if you’ve got any video footage, please contact us:
